‘চাইল্ডহুড অটিজম রেটিং স্কেল’ অটিজম এর মাত্রা জানার জন্য বেশ জনপ্রিয় একটি ব্যবস্থা। যদিও অটিজম এর মাত্রা জানার জন্য পরিপূর্ণ অথবা অদ্বিতীয় কোন রেটিং স্কেল নেই, তার পরেও ‘চাইল্ডহুড অটিজম রেটিং স্কেল’ সারা প্রিথিবিতেই বিপুল ব্যবহার হয়। এই রেটিং স্কেল টি প্রথম ব্যবহার হওয়া শুরু হয় ১৯৬৬ সাল থেকে। সেই সময় থেকেই বিভিন্ন সংজোজন বিয়োজন এর মাধ্যমেই এই স্কেল টি আজকের মাত্রা পেয়েছে।
‘চাইল্ডহুড অটিজম রেটিং স্কেল’ একটি অটিজম ডায়াগনস্টিক টুল যার মাধ্যমে একটি বাচ্চা কে ৬০ নম্বর এর মধ্যে মারকিং করা হয়। প্রাপ্ত নম্বর এর উপর ভিত্তি করে নিম্নোক্ত ডায়াগনোসিস করা যেতে পারেঃ
- নন অটিস্টিক / মাইল্ড অটিস্টিক (১৫-৩০)
- মোডারেট (মাঝামাঝি) অটিস্টিক (৩০-৩৭)
- সিভিয়ার (অনেক বেশি) অটিস্টিক (৩৭-৬০)
‘চাইল্ডহুড অটিজম রেটিং স্কেল’ এ বাচ্চার দৈনন্দিন কার্যক্রম, আচরণ ইত্যাদি সহ মোট ১৫ টি বিষয় কে বিবেচনা করে মারকিং করা হয়।
‘চাইল্ডহুড অটিজম রেটিং স্কেল’ কেন জরুরী?
- আপনার বাচ্চার অটিজম রেটিং স্কেল এ স্কোর যতই হোক না কেন, চিকিৎসা / থেরাপি ইত্যাদি তে তার উন্নতি / অবনতি আপনি বুঝতে পারবেন।
- অনেক বাচ্চা নন-অটিস্টিক (কিন্তু সামান্য লার্নিং সমস্যা আছে) হওয়া সত্ত্বেও তাদের কে অটিস্টিক হিসাবে পরিগনিত করা হয়, যার থেকে রক্ষা পেতে পারেন।
- অটিজম রেটিং অনুযায়ী তার স্কোর বিবেচনা করে চিকিৎসা / থেরাপি প্লান করা হলে তা বাচ্চার জন্য সুফল বয়ে আনতে পারে, কারণ প্রত্যেক অটিস্টিক বাচ্চাই ভিন্ন।

I believe it is very important to know different level or scale of autism. And all level of autistic kids must mixed together for treatment. But unfortunately every autistic school i have visited, i have seen how they are been mixed and as a result low level of autistic kids become more sick day by day.
In Bangladesh we do have autistic school, but is their any body to do proper investigation or monitor those school; whether they doing their job as they should.
I have been to USA, Australia, UK and saw how low to mild scale kids were having fun school time with other normal kids while their treatment for autism was undergoing in the same time.
I just want to say kids are kids…let them run, play, be with other regular kids instead put them into a room with a adult and call it treatment unless that kids are really sick.
I am very upset right now by remembering the autistic school i have visited. I am not criticizing any school, just sharing my thoughts.

Yes Fahmena, I am agree with you and it is a heart breaking news for parents. I am mother of my loving autism son. We could not depend any of our organization or school. Where there we get actual rating scale. But it is necessary for our children.
Dear Ms Jabin, thanks a lot for your comment. It is not entirely correct that at our country good quality rating service is not available. The problem is, to perform a rating in different different aspect, it takes a vast amount of time and professional resources. Like, the GARS-2 rating scale we perform at ‘Institute of NeuroDevelopment and Research [IND&R]‘ takes 4-6 hours to complete. Some times it takes more time to produce a detail report. So, it is not possible for all organization or school to perform such rigorous time consuming and resource intensive work with in their limited resources. My study, knowledge and practical experience helped me to understand “environmental impact” (it may family and or society) influences this autism sufferer badly. Are we really created a good platform for any of our kids? Answer is NO. I believe we think only for me if so then future generation will be suffering. We need to think for and about all of us. Then I am sure all kids will be growing as a natural kid. There will be not any separation or fingering to any one. Only then these kids will grow with his full right. And they will contribute what other can.
I am totally agree with you as I am mother of a mild autistic baby facing the situation you described. My son studied at Special school for 3 years where did not get proper attention and scope to play/ work with same level children. Then I frustrated and admitted him a general Kindergarten school so that he can talk and play with other regular children and learn. But here, he is facing negligence from Teachers and student as a slow learner. He is not happy and interested to go to school, he feels unhonored here. I cannot see any school where he can get scope to play with joy and develop gradually
